Day Five

Today I had a day away from the Business. Well most of the day. I write this blog just before midnight. I did something that seemed like a distant dream 18 months ago. I played for a Ladies Cricket team. This is a Six aside Cricket team for my local Cricket Club at a Cricket Festival and I had so much fun.

What seemed like an absurd fantasy, at the time 18 months ago, a distant faraway dream is now a reality and all because I gave myself permission to dream and pursue my dreams.

I had so much fun today.

If you interviewed me a year ago or 6 months ago, you would not recognise me. Business changes you in ways you never dreamed of.

Investing in personal development and becoming an Entrepreneur is one of the best decisions I made.

Although I am on this journey and far away from the destination, the journey is so much fun.

There are so many exciting experiences to savour on the way.

I enjoyed today like no other and the best thing about it, was that all this fun occurred, a mere walking distance from my house and was free. I did not have to pay to take part in the Cricket Festival.

Anyway this was my day today

855am I woke up and got ready for the day.

915am I made breakfast for my family, warmed up frozen parathas in a fry pan and laid them out on a dish. While my husband sat to watch the Pakistan vs India World cup Cricket match.

I took a few minutes to compose my thoughts and have some tea.

945 I ate breakfast with my husband and chatted to him about the barbecue, we attended yesterday at his Uncle’s house.

10am I collected dirty clothes and ran the washing machine so there are clean clothes for myself and my husband. I was relieved to know the kids clothes had been run yesterday and were dry or drying.

10am to 1045am

I spoke to both my sons about their tasks for today and was so relieved that my youngest son was going to watch my cricket matches.

I had a fraught conversation with my middle son and had to apologise to him as I got really angry with myself for not being able to find something for him.

My middle son, amazingly kept his cool despite me not keeping mine. I checked in with myself realising I was going back to old unhealthy patterns for those minutes, trying to be everything for everyone. I then told him that I could not find what he was looking for and he had to ask his friend or pay for the item. My son understood. My middle son was diagnosed at age of eleven with Developmental Language Disorder and due to specialist help is growing to be a very sensitive gentleman. My son though doesn’t always understand.

Sometimes a little misunderstanding can lead to upset.

This morning it didn’t and I centred myself to focus on my Coaching client.

1045am I got ready for an Online Coaching Client. I looked up the ACTION items I had emailed her previously and knew I was prepared for her and logged on Zoom.

11am to 12noon I coached this Client about her belief, a major belief that she felt she couldnt burden anyone with anything and how that made others take advantage of her. I used a visualisation technique, I myself have developed to heal trauma trapped in the body towards the end of the session and blending it with some other powerful techniques I have learnt that help me connect to my inner child and younger version of myself, got her to connect with her inner child.

She reported a 50 percent change in the tightness of her chest. A 50 percent easing! I was shocked with the effectiveness of the techniques.

I am always shocked as I know the healing is a gift given to me and not really anything to do with me and just occurs naturally when I do not taint it with my ego.

I just get frustrated that I cannot reach more people.

The session ended with my client very satisfied and I felt over joyed to alleviate some of her suffering.

The pains of Business are forgotten in times like this. This is the high.

12pm to 1230 I got ready for cricket.

1230pm to 1pm I walked to the Cricket ground

1pm to 5pm I played cricket, batting and fielding. I scored a few runs, got a wicket by catching the ball and got bowled out. All in one afternoon playing 4 matches with brilliant girls and women!

I had so much fun.

We came third in the festival. Only four clubs played and although we came third, we all played to the best of our abilities. For me winning or losing did not really matter, I just loved the team spirit playing together and doing our best.

5pm to 645pm

I watched the world cup game Pakistan vs India with my family. It was very disappointing because naturally I support Pakistan and India outplayed them with exceedingly good cricket.

630pm to 825pm

I cooked a family meal, a vegan dish and vegetarian dishes. Dinner needs to be cooked and I had to postpone doing the emails I wanted to do for my Business. A woman has to do what she has to do. There are times, plenty I have relied on takeaways to feed my family or my husband cooks but this evening I instinctively felt the right thing was to cook for my family a nutritious meal. Even though I did not feel like it. I live with the tension and accept it that I will always be pulled in different directions. For ten minutes while the rice was cooking, I visited my mother who only lives a minute minutes walk away from my home. My twin brother was visiting her too and we talked about the Cricket.

825pm to 9pm

I helped my youngest son pack for his first residential away from home. He is only going away for two nights and I am already worrying. He will always be my baby.

9pm to 1030pm

I finished cooking and cleaning up in the kitchen and ate with my husband. The kids had eaten earlier.

1030pm to 11pm

I am tired but I spend some time with my sons watching the Voice on ITV and eating my evening meal.

11pm to 1215am

I wrote today’s diary entry i.e this particular blog.

I want to show up for you everyday and it maybe in the future, I cannot.

But for now I am and in doing so I show up for myself and am able to witness this incredible journey.

Taking a break from the Business helped me today.

It gave me some clarity as to what to focus on the rest of the week.

Consolidating on my notes and research on my Ideal Client Avatar is what I have pledged to do this week.

I am going to concentrate on B school and this Ideal Client Avatar exercise.

Let’s see what tomorrow brings.
